Many varieties of cactus can shoot their spines like arrows. The lance-launch saguaro is the most notorious because it shoots not its outer thorns but lance-large giant thorns grown inside the cores of its several branches.
Depending on its size, a lance-launch will have 1-6 or 10-20 branches. Each branch holds up to twelve lances, one of which can be shot each round. Luckily, although it can shoot as far as a catapult or ballista, it is only accurate about as far as the best longbows can shoot. They do as much damage as giant ballista lances.
After a battle, the cactus can replace spent lances at a rate of one per branch per hour.
