Hune Symbiont

The hune live in a plane of existence where the physics-value of dimensional space is zero; all hune (and everything else in their home dimension) exist co-extensively (yet separately) throughout all space in their home plane. It is assumed that in the "Hune Dimension" there is a varied ecosystem of hune-like "biota;" perhaps the hune became symbionts to escape the dangers of their home dimension. Due to the utterly alien nature of the hune's home plane, beings native to other planes cannot remain there; the flickering of hune movement is an instantaneous blinking in and out of existence, moving between their plane and ours.

A being, such as a Byakhee, which incorporates a hune as an internalized organ can use the hune to instantaneously slip from a point in one plane to the hune's home plane and then back, returning to a slightly different point each time. Chaining constant flickerings together, seamless as a motion picture film projection, creates an infinite number of micro-teleportations. This effectively simulates an ability to fly at literally any speed without actual motion (or its associate kinetic energy build up).

Intersection with matter remains a hazard; the higher pseudo-speeds can only be utilized in true vacuum, away from the least traces of atmosphere. Within a solar system, traveling by hune micro-teleportation is safest within the umbra of a planet, sheltered from even the trace of particles that make up the solar wind.

The Byakhee are just one of many species of interstellar creatures which have become symbiotic with hune. The Byakhee carry their hune in organs within their lower abdomens.
